Plymouth Argyle 1-1 Bristol City: Bottom of the Championship and without a manager following Wayne Rooney’s departure yesterday, Plymouth Argyle have equalized early in the second half in their game against Bristol City. Morgan Whittaker’s cross was headed in at the back post by an unmarked Rami El Haj from close range to make the score 1–1 at Home Park.

Action so far today: QPR took advantage of some poor defending from the visitors and a pair of goals coming off the back of set-pieces to put Watford 2–0 up at half-time.

Swiss striker Michael Frey scored his fifth of the season from Kieran Morgan’s pull-back, while Jimmy Dunn scored the second from an Elias Chaire cross.

At Home Park, Plymouth’s Ryan Hardie fired over the bar to make the difference, before his side were leveled behind by a strike from Bristol City’s Anis Mehmeti.

It’s a tie between Millwall and Oxford United at the Den at the moment, but the home side are in the lead, should they stay ahead and have even had a good penalty appeal turned down.

Meanwhile in League One: Wigan Athletic’s home match against Huddersfield Town has been postponed due to “severe local flooding”. While the pitch at the Brick Community Stadium was deemed playable, overnight rain has left the roads around the ground in a dangerous condition. With local emergency services “unable to provide resources to support match day operations”, Wigan have been left with no option but to call off today’s game.

Rooney left Plymouth after 23 games

Wayne Rooney’s time at Plymouth quite predictably ended yesterday after just seven months, with the bottom-placed Championship club announcing that he and the former Manchester United and England striker have “mutually agreed to part ways with immediate effect.” Have formally agreed”.

First-team coach Kevin Nansquill and club captain Joe Edwards have taken temporary charge of the Pilgrims, who are currently playing against Bristol City and have so far lost by the only goal of the game.
