TV tonight: Colin Firth’s powerful drama about Lockerbie bombing Television and Radio

Lockerbie: the search for truth

9pm, Sky Atlantic
Colin Firth stars in this drama about the Pan Am Flight 103 bomb, which exploded in Lockerbie in 1988 and killed 270 people. Firth plays GP Jim Swire, whose daughter was on the plane and who leads a quest for justice – dedicating his life to finding out what happened. It’s entertaining, well-crafted and sensitively told, but it’s not possible to escape the palpable horror in this opening episode, which begins on the night of the bombing. holly richardson
