PA media, citing National Highways, reports that the M5 in Gloucestershire has been closed southbound from Junction 11a for Gloucester to Junction 12 for Quedgeley due to “extensive flooding”.

In an update it said “contractors are on the way to try to deal with the flooding”.

Manchester Airport runways reopen after closure due to snowfall

In a statement, Manchester Airport says the runway, which was previously closed due to snowfall, has reopened.

It advises passengers to check directly with airlines about arrivals and departures, as earlier closures may cause delays.

Flights to Germany scheduled to depart at 6.30 am and 7 am have been delayed to 9 am and 8.30 am respectively.

Manchester Airport has issued a statement saying that its runways are closed due to snowfall.

At 6.30 am the airport issued a message saying:

Our runways are temporarily closed due to heavy snowfall, as our teams are working hard to clear them as quickly as possible.

The safety of our passengers is our top priority, and we appreciate your patience during this time. Please contact your airline for the latest flight information and allow additional travel time today.

We will update you as soon as possible. Thank you.
